Breeding Strategy
Our breeding strategy is simple - we strive for correct type, but overall, the most important thing we feel is temperament.
We are now members of the Kennel Club Accredited Breeder Scheme (Membership No 2493534) which promotes good breeding practices and includes using stock that has been screened for some possible health problems. Full details of the scheme can be obtained from the Kennel Club website at www.thekennelclub.org.uk.
With each puppy we have to provide:-
- a Puppy Sales Wallet that contains our contact details
- Breed Club details
- a copy of the contract of sale and written explanation of any endorsements
- a new owner questionaire
- written advice on socialisation, training, feeding, exercise, worming regime and immunisation advice as well as copies of any health or relevant certificates
Along with that we also provide a "Puppy Pack" which includes collar and lead, food, toy and a book on training amongst other things. Puppies are also vaccinated, wormed and insured for 6 weeks.
The health and wellbeing of all our puppies is of paramount importance. Their hearts eyes and ears are checked by our vet when they have their first injections at 8 weeks, and are well socialised and handled (by children and adults alike) from the beginning. It is then up to the new owners to carry on this work.
One of us, however, is always on the end of the phone or e-mail for problems (however trivial they may seem), so he/she can grow into a well mannered dog that is a pleasure to have around.
