Windsor Championship Show
Thelma won the Reserve CC under Chris Wakefield. I was also celebrating a Big Birthday so several bottles of bubbly were consumed by us Sussex folk back at the benches and a very good day was had by all!

Another New Champion
Thelma Kicked off the New Year in style by gaining her 3rd CC at Manchester CS Championship Show under judge Jeff Horswell making her Sh Ch Sovaroma Ruby Tuesday.

A New Champion
is crowned at the All Winners Show Amsterdam 2009.
Sovaroma Amber Daze by Quarr gained her dutch title under Zena Thorn Andrews.
Many congratulations to her owners Herman and Ineke Mulder of Herriot Sussex Spaniels.

Midland Counties Championship Show
was a family affair. We took Onlsow, Nellie and Thelma and all three dogs won their respective classes. Onslow went on to win his ninth Reserve CC and Nellie qualified for Crufts 2010.
That's our showing now complete for 2009. We're planning to have puppies from both girls in 2010 so Onslow will be flying the Sovaroma flag for much of the year. Puppy news will be posted on this page in due course.

Sovaroma Amber Daze by Quarr (Amber) owned by Herman and Ineke Mulder,
now has two CAC's which means she is half way to becoming a Dutch Champion.

A Good Week!
At City of Birmingham Championship Show Sovaroma Ruby Tuesday (Thelma)
won her third RCC under judge Mr George Clarke.
THEN, a week later, she won the bitch CC (her second) at Richmond under Mrs Ann
Moss.

Sad News from Queensland, Australia
Aust Ch Sovaroma Classic Gold (Nissa)has passed away. She was a fit and lively girl, top winning Sussex in Australia 2007 and will be sadly missed by her owner Marjory Adkins.

Sussex Spaniel Association Limited Show
Nellie has another taste of the showing game and wins Reserve Best Bitch under Julie Cadwell. This was probably due to a different handler (not me) but my husband Robert. She and Sophie also won the fancy dress - as Truffle Hunters!

National Dog Show - A very good day!
With the Padfields' Ernie (ShCh S. Bombardier) winning his 4th CC and Best of Breed under Mr Chris Brown. Onslow and Thelma also came away with Reserve CC's which made the journey home (M6, M5 and M4 on a Friday afternoon) a lot easier to bear! |

Onslow wins RCC at WELKS
After a bad 2008 with both dog and handler (me) having had various injuries and health problems, Onslow is back in the limelight again after winning his 7th Reserve Challenge Certificate under Mrs F Somerfield at West of England Ladies Kennel Society Championship Show.

"Nellie the Truffle Hunter" presented by John Barrowman is aired on CBBC. A DVD of the programme is available on request for £3 which will be donated to Sussex Spaniel Rescue. |

Thelma wins her first CC.
At the tender age of 21 months Thelma (Sovaroma Ruby Tuesday) has built on a successful 2007 and won her first CC at National Gundog under Sue Alderson. This gives her a Stud Book No. and a lifetime qualification for Crufts.

The first Truffle Hunting Sussex?
Nellie (Sovaroma West Country Gold) went Truffle Hunting and was filmed by CBBC for a series called "Animals at Work". She is entered for the first Truffle Hunting Championships (in the UK) to be held on 17th August which will also be covered by the programme. Our first Champion.
Ernie, owned by Colin and Sandra Padfield, won his all important third CC at Windsor under Dee Ashcroft making him Sh Ch Sovaroma Bombardier. His first was at City of Birmingham 2007 under Ann Moon and the second at Crufts 2008 under Betty Purkiss.

Top Winning Puppy
Thelma (Sovaroma Ruby Tuesday) is crowned Top Winning Sussex Puppy (sponsored by Pedigree) for 2007.
She won 6 Best Puppy in Breed awards and a Puppy Group 4 during the year.
